The SIU Writing Center is pleased to announce our Fall 2026 Creative Writing Contest. We're celebrating the your incredible imagination and exciting expressions.

Who can enter?

All undergraduate students are welcome to submit their writing. You are only eligible to submit 1 entry per category and to win in only 1 category

What writings can I submit?

There are 3 categories for submissions:

• Fiction
• Non-fiction
• Poetry

What can I win? 

Each category will have a 1st place winner and a runner-up.

• 1st place prize: TBA
• Runner-up prize: TBA

There will be an Award Ceremony & Reading event in November where winners will be announced and prizes awarded.
